Carrie Jasper is the president of The Lucinda L. Jasper Scholarship Fund, Inc. Prior to retirement, Ms. Jasper was the National Director for Outreach to Parents and Families at the U. S. Department of Education (ED). While at ED Ms. Jasper worked for the Title I and Impact Aid Programs. Ms. Jasper has written several publications for ED, among them Parent Power, Empowering Parents School Box, Tips for Reading Tutors, the Activity Book (for students), and Preparing for College. She was also the writer and editor of two bi-monthly newsletters, Engaging Families and Touching Base, specifically for military families. Ms. Jasper has also been a teacher in the D.C. Public Schools and the Archdiocese of Washington and worked for the Drug Enforcement Administration. Ms. Jasper holds a Master’s in Math Education from Howard University and a Bachelor of Science from the District of Columbia Teachers College.
