Free Hena Khan books!!!
From Hena Khan:
There is a wonderful FREE resource for teachers, especially as some of them mentioned wishing they could also get a copy of Night of the Moon. They can actually get a free copy of it (or another one of my picture books) for their classroom through UPF, Unity Productions Foundation, which is offering a copy of my books along with their 9-min short film on Ramadan called Nadia’s Ramadan. It’s a wonderful opportunity and I hope some of the audience will sign up. I ran a campaign to donate several hundred books that are ready to be shipped out now! The link to sign up is https://www.upf.tv/nadiasramadan/

Message from our MELLFIN President

Our work is more important now than ever before, as we continue to lead by example as beacons for welcoming and engaging immigrant families in our schools and districts.  We are called, we are knowledgeable, and we are passionate. Our voices must resonate for the voiceless, carrying the torch in facilitating this critical network across Maryland and beyond, for our EL students and their families.

  • Please share and encourage EL seniors pursuing higher education to apply for one of the MELLFIN scholarships;
  • Nominate an exemplary immigrant parent for the MELLFIN John Nelson Parent Involvement Matters Award;
  • Make plans to attend the annual conference, as we work together to encourage and engage.
We look forward to seeing you all in May!
